Can you say that your chili recipe is award winning?

I sure can and with this recipe you can too!

Every year Steve’s work had a soup, stew and chili cook off.  Our first year of marriage I made this for him to take and we won the competition!  This year with just having moved, still unpacking our boxes and topped off with an awful head cold I didn’t have the energy to come up with a new recipe to enter.  So, after taking some input from his team of coworkers we went back to the basics.  And once again he is sharing this Award Winning Sweet and Spicy Chili with the office.

I normally have a very hard time telling y’all about my recipe and why you should make it. Yes this is a struggle for me. Truly, I mean just because I like it and my family eats it…doesn’t mean other people will too! Usually I have multiple people try out a recipe and give me feedback – and let me tell you, my family and friends do NOT hold back! If it’s crap, they tell me and it doesn’t always come across nicely! But this chili – this was loved by every single person who tried it!  Insert my dippy looking Charlie Brown style happy dance!

Making chili in a crock-pot or a slow cooker is one of the easiest ways you can make it and with a low and slow cook time the meat and beans blend together into a perfectly wonderful, hearty dish.

P.S. Tomorrow I have an awesome Southern Cornbread Waffle recipe for you to enjoy with this crock-pot chili.
