But don’t want to have to run to the store to buy something? This Instant-Pot Savory Herbed Rice can be made with ingredients you have on hand!

Growing up when my mother did attempt to cook, we always had one of two different side dishes; Mashed potatoes or boil in a bag rice.  , like most other foods I didn’t discover the rice varieties, or seasonings for that matter, until into my adult life. Having said that I can now clearly state – I love rice!

My family’s go-to however is long-grain white rice. It is quite possibly the most common rice made throughout the country.  However, with a few simple tweaks you can turn it from basic into awesome! This Instant-Pot Savory Herbed Rice is a long-grained rice spiced up by cooking it with chicken broth and six (6) simple spices which brings you a flavor like Rice-A-Roni.

Mix everything together in your instant-pot.

Step 2

Cook with the rice setting.

Step 3

Fluff with a fork.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon Basil dried1/4 tsp Marjoram, dried1 tsp Onion, dried1/2 tsp Onion powder1/4 tsp Thyme, dried1 tsp Chicken or vegetable bouillon2 tbsp Soy sauce, reduced sodium1 cup Rice, long-grain1 tbsp Butter2 cups Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon Onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Thyme
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup Lon-grain rice
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth

Instructions

  1. Mix everything together in your instant-pot.Cover with the lid and press Rice. Press Cancel. Fluff with fork and enjoy.

  2. Cook until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed, about 25 minutes.

  3. Fluff with fork and enjoy.
